Conway’s Double Century in the debut test match

Devon Philip Conway is a cricketer ,born in South Africa on 8th July 1991 , who now plays in New Zealand cricket team. In March 2020, the International Cricket Council confirmed that Conway would be eligible to play for New Zealand from 28 August 2020.

Devon Conway announced his arrival in the Test Arena by etching his name on Lord’s honours board. Along the way, he cracked a stupendous double century on Thursday to dominate first test against England.

Conway became the seventh player and second New Zealand batsmen to score double century on Test debut. Among New Zealand players, Conway emulated Matthew Sinclair who hit 214 on his maiden appearance, against West Indies in Wellington in 1999-00.

52.91% of team runs contributed by Conway- 200 out of 378 is the second most by a player on his debut innings. By the look and sound of him these past two days, and quite apart from his brilliant batting. Conway would seem to have added his name to that list.
